Rooted in untamed Finnish wool, refined with select natural fibers — wrapped in Nordic lifestyle. Created for creative souls.
Welcome to a world where tradition meets innovation, where every thread tells a story, and where knitting transcends into an art form. Tukuwool story began in 2014 as one woman hobby, then bought two years later by Tiina Huhtaniemi, the woman behind Yarn Shop Titityy and Finnish Jyväskylä Knit Festival event.
In ten years Tukuwool has set their roots in the yarn industry. Still 100% owned by Tiina, Tukuwool is run by a team of knitters and yarn lovers, partnered with industry forerunners, traditional artisans and farms in Finland, as well as designers and knitting community members around the world.
Introducing our premium Tukuwool Finnish Wool yarns, a yarn line that embodies the essence of Scandinavian craftsmanship and the pure beauty of Finnish nature.
In Finland, knitting is more than a craft – it’s a legacy. Passed down through generations, Finnish knitting is celebrated for its attention to detail, vibrant patterns, and the harmonious blend of materials and colors.
Tukuwool yarns are a tribute to this rich tradition, meticulously crafted by skilled workers of our partner spinnery, who are proud to be part of the Finnish knitting and spinning tradition. Traditional spinning processes are passed to a new generation to create artisan yarn that honors the skills and artistry of knitters.
By choosing our Finnish Wool yarn, you are not just purchasing yarn – you are becoming part of our story. A story of heritage, of passion, and of a knitting community that values quality, sustainability, and artistic expression. Let your creativity soar with the purest yarn that Finland has to offer.
Tukuwool core yarn collection includes rustique and soulful yarn bases that are spun and dyed in Finland using Finnish wool. The traditional spinning mills craft artisan wool yarn. The high quality wool together with the carefully selected colors give our yarn its heart and meaning. The Finnish Tukuwool yarns Fingering, DK, Sock and Nordic Resilk are spun in Mikkeli and Jämsä and dyed in Hämeenkyrö. Alongside Finnish wool, we’ve introduced high-quality yarns from Italy — like silk mohair and cashmere silk — to complement our selection.
